I was inspired to create the site when I was talking on the phone with my mother about my own video setup at home, and was more than a little surprised at how interested she was in alternative ways of accessing video. After all, my mother had been resistant to both computers and the internet for years, and now she was ready to embrace both—not just because of easier communication with family and friends, but also the added control she'd have with video. About the same time, networks started running ads promoting the upcoming change from analog to digital broadcasting, and I realized how much the the world of video has changed in the last five years.
Secret of Signals explores the ongoing revolution in video, especially with the introduction of new technologies and the impact of the internet on media publication and access. SoS also takes time, now and then, to watch a good movie or TV show.
Photo policy: Enjoy my photos, and if you wish to republish any on your web site or other publication, feel free. All I ask is that you don't sell the photos commercially, or use the photos for commercial purposes without checking with me, first, to see if doing so would violate other copyrights. I also ask that you give me credit—either by linking to the site's front page or the page where you found the photo, or by listing my name with the photo.
